A Magical Swashbuckling Adventure
And this time, nobody got seasick!
Ahoy there, cozy crew!
Last weekend, I set sail on an unforgettable adventure—no need for a treasure map or a boat, just a ticket to the local pirate dinner theater! My first mate for the evening? None other than my editor and best friend Carrie, who made the long voyage from the landlocked hills of Kentucky for a weekend visit.
From the moment we stepped into the VIP area, it was full steam ahead into a sea of swashbuckling fun. While waiting for the main attraction to begin, we snapped selfies with Blackbeard and his wench while waving our souvenir Team Sapphire flags during the pre-dinner show.
The main show was a whirlwind of high-flying acrobatics, clever animal tricks, and sword fights aplenty—no mutiny here, just pure entertainment gold from none other than Davy Jones's Locker. And yes, Davy did make an appearance!
The galley served up a feast fit for a captain: juicy chicken, savory ham, comforting chicken soup, corn on the cob, creamy mac and cheese, a fluffy biscuit, and to top it off, a slice of chocolate coconut cake that would tempt even the saltiest sailor. We washed it all down with iced tea while cheering for the Team Sapphire pirate crew. (We won’t talk about losing to Team Crimson. Boooo!)
