A Raccoon, a Ransom, and a New Release
Join Matilda and Rumple in their final cozy mystery adventure!
You could’ve picked anywhere to spend your reading time, but I’m honored you landed in my sweet and cozy world. No matter what genre I write, the only thing steamy you’ll find in here is the coffee. Thanks for being here!
LOOSE ENDS TIED UP is now available!
Several years ago, I had to choose between writing two cozy mystery series—one inspired by my love of knitting and another inspired by my dislike of housekeeping. You might be surprised that the Haunted Housekeeping series won.
I know, right?
But the beauty of being an indie author is that I not only get to write books that I love to write, but they’re also books that many of you have loved to read. When I learned to outline a cozy mystery, it sped up my writing process—like giving up a Model T Ford for a brand new Mustang convertible.
Not only am I writing faster, but the ideas are nonstop. Sometimes, it’s difficult to know which series to write next. Do you want a chance to help pick the next series? Vote in this poll to let me know. In the future, you’ll get to vote on other things, like character names, plot twists, and more!
If anyone had told me last year that I’d be writing a book per month, I’d have laughed. Learning to outline was only part of it. These new series are a smidge shorter. The characters share some of my quirks, like having ADHD, anxiety, or the dream of someday having a pet raccoon who talks back to me.
So whether you’re a fan of the books and are ready to get caught up with the final Serial Knitters book, or you’re just starting, I hope you’ll love the fictional South Carolina town of Gunther’s Landing and its residents. Could some of them be inspired by living in a small town in South Carolina? If you know, you know.
Loose Ends Tied Up: A Southern Knitter’s Guide to Unraveling a Ransom (Serial Knitters Book 3)
I thought hosting a charity knit-a-thon would be the highlight of Gunther's Landing's arts and crafts festival. Instead, I'm racing against a ransom deadline to save my assistant manager's life.
Reid has been more than an employee since I inherited the yarn shop—he's become family. So when he disappears from the festival and a demand arrives, I'm not waiting for the police to sort it out. Someone thinks they can steal from a charity benefiting the houseless and take one of my people? They've picked the wrong retired librarian to mess with.
This time, I'm not investigating alone. Rumple, my sassy, talking raccoon who is equal parts rescue and roommate, has finally conquered his fear of the outside world. He's traded the couch for the cobblestones of Main Street, and he's ready to help me unravel this thing—assuming he doesn't get distracted by festival snacks first.
But the kidnapper knows more about us than they should. And the closer we get to the truth, the more I realize this crime might be connected to everything that's happened since I first inherited that shop.
Perfect for fans of small-town charm, quirky sidekicks, and clever amateur sleuths, Loose Ends Tied Up is a cozy tale of found family with neurodivergent characters that proves some threads are worth following to the very end.
Are you ready for more Rune?
Book 5 in the Haunted Housekeeping Series is coming June 4th!
Hazel and I have finally escaped the housekeeping business. We've put aside our toilet brushes for a new gig—The Salty Sirens, two best friends who cleanse homes of negative energy. No rubber gloves required.
Life is good. I'm engaged to my hunky Irishman, Rune, and we've finally moved in together. What could go wrong? That's what I thought until a moving truck pulled up across the street and men started carrying my mother's belongings into the house directly across from mine.
But Mom didn't just buy a house. She also bought the town laundromat, which she's convinced is haunted. When the laundromat's most difficult customer turns up dead in a commercial dryer, folded like a fitted sheet, Mom's new business becomes a crime scene.
And thanks to a very public argument with the victim, guess who the prime suspect is? That's right. Me. As if solving a murder wasn't enough, Mom's new hairdresser friend gives me the creeps, Hazel's boyfriend is acting strangely secretive, and Rune's sweet whispers have turned to mewling—the feline kind.
Can I clear my name, save my mother's business, and figure out why my fiancé is coughing up hairballs—before it's too late?
That's all for now. I hope your day is filled with books and coffee (or whatever you’ve got in your favorite mug).
Happy reading,
Becky
