Last week, I shared about how I tripped over air and spent the week on crutches. I’m down to one crutch, which I hoped was enough to carry out my big birthday plans.
Spoiler: it wasn’t.
The plan was to go to Costco, enjoy all the free samples, and then cap the trip off with a hot dog. The idea of walking through the warehouse with a crutch (or even using the cart as a crutch) was more than my knee could handle.
The fam still hooked me up with a hot dog while I stayed here to write. After my birthday dinner of chicken quesadillas, I was treated to this chocolate fudge concoction (from The Trestle Bakery in Conway, South Carolina) and brownies. I remembered to take a picture after I’d cut into it, and it’s every bit as delicious as it looks. The best part was having everyone home and spending time together.

Speaking of writing, I’ve started on what’s next after the Serial Knitters cozy mystery series. Although I can’t reveal too much yet, I can introduce you to the sleuth, a talkative Scottish Terrier named Rory. Yes, the name is inspired by my favorite show, Gilmore Girls. (If you’re a fan of the show, be sure to follow GG Inspired Lifestyle!)
Do you have any guesses about what Rory could represent as a mascot? The answer is still unguessed on my 2026 Bingo Card. I’ve made connections on social media to help research the topic, and I can’t wait to try it for myself!
