My Unexpected Easter Plans

You could’ve picked anywhere to spend your reading time, but I’m honored you landed in my sweet and cozy world. No matter what genre I write, the only thing steamy you’ll find in here is the coffee. Thanks for being here!
A couple of weeks ago, my mom had emergency surgery for a partial hip replacement. The hubby and I are staying with her while she recovers. A stomach bug kept me from going to my actual brother’s for Easter, but I didn’t spend the day alone.
Lucky is Mom’s cat. You might remember him “My Cat Brother Is a Diva.” Back in South Carolina last Sunday, my dogs were enjoying Peeps-themed dog treats. Why should Lucky go without a treat from the Easter bunny? Online shopping to the rescue! With a few quick clicks on my laptop, Lucky’s treat was on the way.
Although I’d only ordered the catnip-filled chirping bird, he equally loved the empty paper bag for a few days. I’m not sure who’s had more fun—Lucky playing with the bird, or us watching him wrestle with it. The poor thing has already lost a feather. (The toy bird, not the cat.)
After Mom’s PT appointment on Monday, we hit the local Little Debbie outlet. I only planned to grab a few belated Easter treats for our sons back in South Carolina. Long story short, they’ll have enough to fill dozens of Easter baskets.
The store is filled with discounted products. Some are favorites you’ll find in any major grocery store. Others varieties we’d never seen before. As tempting as it was to buy a cosmic brownie dog toy for our pets back in South Carolina, we somehow resisted. I’m glad we don’t live closer to the store. I’d be in big trouble!
