Birdwatching isn’t an obsession, but I enjoy it well enough. My office has a huge window that overlooks the backyard. We have a few feeders out there. As you can see from the image above, they attract more than birds.
My husband Jimmy spends quite a bit of time in my office while I’m working. Sometimes we have dinner in there if the boys are watching something that doesn’t interest us in the living room. We often have lunch at my desk while watching true crime documentaries.
Fowl Language
When I see a bird he doesn’t recognize, I’ll tell him what kind of bird it is. Most of the time, I’m correct. Sometimes I like to mess with him. It keeps him on his toes. The more NSFW (not safe for work) the name sounds, the more likely he is to react with a shocked expression.

Perpetual Kid has Fowl Language dish towels feature birds with names that sound inappropriate but aren’t. I’m just familiar enough with the various species to make up something similar-sounding on the fly (no pun intended).
If he points at a Carolina Thrasher and asks what it is, there’s a 50/50 chance I’ll answer correctly. Other times, I might reply, “That’s a brown-titted warbler.”
“You’re kidding,” he’ll say.
And I’ll respond, “You’re right. It’s a Carolina Thrasher.”
Hello Birdies

In July we moved my desk to the living room for office renovations. I miss watching the birds through the office window. I sometimes catch them through the breakfast nook windows, but not often.
This bird feeder has been on my wish list since
, my co-host at the , got one last year for Christmas. I had FOMO (fear of missing out) to the Nth degree until last weekend when I scored one on Amazon for 65% off the retail value. Now I can see the birds at the birdfeeder via an app on my phone and tell Jimmy their accurate names. I might still mess with him, but now I have the app to confirm each bird’s rightful species. If you want to get one of these nifty gadgets, click the link below for the details!
P.S. And starting next week, you’ll receive Bird of the Week stories!
I can buy myself Flowers (Felons & Families)

If you love your cozies potted with zany characters, filled with action and suspense, planted with clean romance, and sprinkled with ghosts, witches, and supernatural spirits, you'll love this first book in The Flower Farm Mystery Series. It's a Paranormal Women's Fiction Cozy Mystery set on a garden center in a rural ghost town—and it’s in Kindle Unlimited! (You know that’s how I’ll be reading it…)
That's all for now. I hope your day is filled with books and coffee (or whatever is in your favorite mug). Happy reading!
Until next time,
Becky

I'm very interested in knowing how you end up liking that feeder camera - I'm thinking of something like that as well!
I love this! And now, I have a new store to find funny gifts in. Thanks for that tip, too. :)
