Do you know what’s special about today?
Whether your Valentine’s Day was overrun with romance or you spent the day alone, lamenting whether you’d ever have a Valentine again, there’s one thing we can all appreciate. Valentine chocolate is on clearance!
In 2011, I was under so much stress that I developed allergies to chocolate and cinnamon. The allergist joked that if I reduced my stress, they might go away. Our family moved to South Carolina in 2020, and within six months I was eating chocolate without any negative reaction. The following year, I was inhaling Cinnabon cinnamon rolls like there was no tomorrow.
Now I enjoy chocolate and cinnamon in moderation. As someone who struggles with food addiction, it helps to keep my favorite candies behind the closed door of our kitchen pantry. Perishables can be tucked away in the beer fridge in the garage. Out of sight. Out of mind.
What’s your favorite Valentine candy?
I’ve always loved conversation hearts, regardless of temporary allergies. Something about reaching into the box and pulling out a random message is appealing. It’s like an edible version of the Magic 8 Ball messages. (I keep one of those on my desk!)
Vote below to let me know what your favorite Valentine candy is, and if it’s not listed, be sure to tell us what it is in the comments!
